First, how does one post a question on the Clarinet-Now Blog? Doesn't seem to be a place to post a question. I am a clarinet student using a Buffet R-13 and am interested in purchasing an A-key clarinet, but am short on funds. I have seen a new A clarinet by RS Berkeley for around $300 and I know it is made from a synthetic composite material. Does anyone know about this clarinet make and would it be a reasonable investment? Are there any reviews of this brand?
Thanks

Hello John,
What is the best way to try a clarinet? Look here at Clarinet-Trial-Chart.
Looks like you have posted your question just fine. Honestly, before today, I’ve not heard of the RS Berkeley clarinet line. I would seriously question the quality of a $300 A Clarinet; however, the best advice I can give you is to try one of these clarinets out.
I had a hard time finding a place that sells this clarinet much less has a review of it. Wherever you do buy the clarinet, make sure they have a good return policy.
This is the description of the clarinet via the Berkeley site:
AC307 ELITE SERIES Key of A; hard rubber body, barrel, and bell; nickel sliver keys; .576” (14.64mm) bore; Boehm key system; blue steel springs; includes case, mouthpiece, ligature and cap.

If anyone out there does have a Berkeley clarinet and wishes to review it, please do so here at Clarinet-Now.com. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Chris
